
Meet the Qualifiers: Florida Men’s Track and Field

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Florida's No. 4-ranked Men's Track and Field team heads to the NCAA East Prelims this week with the hope of sending a number of entries through to Eugene for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The Gators won three events at the SEC Outdoor Championships including a sweep of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay crowns and a title from Champion Allison in the 400 meters.
Florida will be heavy in the sprints and relays on the men's side but will also contest events in the throws, hurdles, jumps and 800 meters.
Meet the Gators set to compete this weekend.
100 Meters | First Round: 5/25 (7:00 p.m.) | Quarterfinals: 5/27 (6:35 p.m.)
Preview: The field for the men's 100 meters is expected to be extremely competitive across the weekend. Florida will field four entries in the event including the SEC Silver Medalist in Dedrick Vanover. Joseph Fahnbulleh was also a national finalist a year ago in the event.
Vanover and Tyler Davis will compete in the same heat in Wednesday's First Round while Fahnbulleh and PJ Austin also open up their weekend in search of a spot in Friday's quarterfinal round.
All four of Florida's athletes have run under 10.18 this year and will look to take the first step in qualifying to Oregon when they line up in the blocks on Wednesday night.

Preview: Florida returns the defending NCAA Outdoor Champion in the 200 meters in the way of Joseph Fahnbulleh.
Just a week ago, he earned silver at the SEC Outdoor Championships and has a season-best time of 19.92. He is joined in the field by Tyler Davis and Kemuel Santana.
Fahnbulleh is expected to be in contention to repeat as champion in the event next month and will take the first step in doing that on Wednesday night in the First Round of the NCAA East Prelims.

Preview: The Gators have been a force in the 400 meters all season long. Champion Allison, Jacory Patterson and Ryan Willie have made the finals at all three postseason meets this season and will look to do the same at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Jacob Miley and Anthony Brodie join the contingent of Florida athletes in the event.
Allison was the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Champion in the 400 meters. Patterson won bronze at the SEC Outdoor Meet with Willie coming in fifth.
All three rank in the top-8 nationally in the event. Their first step toward Oregon will come in the First Round of the NCAA East Prelims on Wednesday night.

Preview: Sam Austin was a Second Team All-American in the 800 meters as a freshman and will have the chance to earn his way to the NCAA Championships during the outdoor season as well.
He enters this weekend seeded 12th in the region and will be in firm contention to make the team to Oregon. He finished 8th at last week's SEC Outdoor Championships.

Preview: Caleb Foster will do double duty this week between the Long Jump and 110-meter hurdles. At last week's SEC Outdoor Championship, Foster was a finalist in the 110-meter hurdles.
He will line up in both events on Wednesday night.

Preview: Collin Sieffert lowered his personal best in the 400-meter hurdles in the prelims of the SEC Outdoor Championships but narrowly missed the final.
He will compete again this weekend and will look to make the quarterfinal round to begin the weekend.
He enters the weekend firmly in the middle of the pack of athletes.

Long Jump | First Round: 5/25 (6:00 p.m.)
Preview: Caleb Foster and Malcolm Clemons are among a number of Gators projected to advance through to Oregon in their respective events.
Clemons was a bronze medalist in the Long Jump at last week's SEC Outdoor Championships with Foster taking fifth.
Both athletes will be in the final flight of the Long Jump competition on Wednesday evening.

Preview: Jonathan Miller and Michael Holloway II will both enter the Triple Jump field this weekend.

Both will compete in Friday's portion of the schedule.

Preview: After placing at the SEC Outdoor Championships, Edward Shelikoff comes to Bloomington with hopes of advancing to his first NCAA Outdoor Championships.
He was sixth a week ago in Oxford and finds himself in firm contention to be among the Top 12 of the Discus.
Shelikoff is set to compete Friday afternoon with a trip to Eugene on the line.

Javelin | First Round: 5/25 (2:00 p.m.)
Preview: Mark Porter will be the first Florida athlete to compete this weekend when he contests the Javelin on Wednesday afternoon.
He has gone to the last two NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2019 and 2021 as a member of Penn State and will look to go back as a Gator.
Porter is seeded ninth in the region, putting him in projected range to make his way to Oregon.

Preview: The Gators have been dominant in the 4x100 relay this season, with every completed race going under 39 seconds.
Florida won the SEC Outdoor Championships and the Texas Relays title behind the team of Dedrick Vanover, Tyler Davis, PJ Austin and Joseph Fahnbulleh.
The same quartet is expected to run this weekend. The Top 12 of 24 relays will qualify through to Oregon.

Preview: There has not been a more dominating team than Florida's quartet of Jacory Patterson, Ryan Willie, Jacob Miley and Champion Allison this year in the 4x400 relay.
Florida has broken the collegiate record (2:58.53) and won the SEC Outdoor Championship in sub-three-minute fashion.
The Gators will look to qualify through to Oregon on Friday night in the final event on the men's side this weekend.
