
Will Claye Books Ticket to World Championships on Final Day of USATF Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Gator Great Will Claye made his sixth-consecutive World Championship team following a runner-up performance (16.93m/55-6.5) in the Triple Jump at the USATF Outdoor Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Christian Taylor (Triple Jump) and Grant Holloway (110mH) participated Sunday as well but already had spots with Team USA secured as the defending World Champions in their respective events.
Taylor was fifth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 16.54m/54-3.25 as he continues to round into form heading into next month's World Championships.
Holloway was the top qualifier into the finals of the high hurdles (13.03) but elected to scratch from the final with a qualifying berth to Worlds already in hand.
Those three add to a contingent of Gators set to represent Team USA at next month's World Championships.
Additional spots will still be available depending on the amount qualifiers from this weekend that have hit the World Standard.
Among the Gators to join Holloway, Taylor and Claye in Eugene this summer include Anna Hall, Champion Allison, Talitha Diggs, Jasmine Moore and Gator Great Cory McGee.
Hall (Heptathlon) and Diggs (400 meters) were U.S. National Champions in their respective events after also winning NCAA Titles in those events at the beginning of June.
Allison laid down a 43.70 in the finals of the 400 to grab National Runner-Up honors. He became the 10th-best performer in World History across 400 meters with his mark on Saturday afternoon.
Moore qualified in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, becoming the first American woman in history to make both events at the same World Championships.
McGee (1500m) will make her first appearance at the World Championships since 2013 this summer after finishing 2nd at the USATF Outdoor Championships.
Full lists of qualifiers to the World Championships, from all nations, will be announced in the ensuing weeks as the world's best converge on Eugene, Ore. for the World Championships.
This summer's festivities will take place from July 15-24 at Hayward Field in Eugene.
