FAYETTEVILLE, AR. – The Florida Gators Track and Field teams continued their 2023 indoor campaign Friday at the Razorback Invitational. The Gators faced some tough competition but still managed to find success. Three Gators set three new personal bests, two in throws (
Logan Montgomery and
Calvin Bostic) and one on the track (
Talitha Diggs).
On day one,
Jasmine Moore captured a title, placing first in the women's long jump. While only Moore won her event, six other Gators found their way to a podium finish.
Tomorrow the Gators begin day two of the Razorback Invitational at 11:00 a.m. ET with
Jordan Shapiro competing in the women's mile. The lone field event Florida will participate in is the men's triple jump at 3:45 p.m. ET featuring
Sean Dixon-Bodie and
Michael Holloway II.

Pentathlon
Women- In the first event of the day,
Sterling Lester took part in the first multis competition of the season, the pentathlon. In the 60m hurdles she ran an 8.51, starting the competition in fourth. In the second event, high jump, Lester finished with a mark of 1.65m/5'5", just short of her PR. The third event was shot put where her mark of 10.56m (34'10.75") was enough for a ninth-place finish in the event. After shot put, Lester took part in the long jump where her jump of 5.57m/ 18'3.25", placed her eleventh. In the final event, the 800m, she ran a 2:13.05, over 5 seconds faster than the second-place runner in the event. Her 800m, shot her back up the leader board into a third overall finish in the pentathlon.
Shot Put
Women- In her Florida Gator debut,
Da'Moni Kelly earns sixteenth place with a mark of 13.51m/44'4".
Men- For the second meet in a row, freshman
Logan Montgomery leads the way for the men's throwers. He came in eleventh and posted a new personal best (17.40m/57'1").
Calvin Bostic's 16.44m/ 53'11.25" is a new indoor personal best and helped him to a seventeenth-place finish.
Long Jump
Women- In what has become expected, the pair of
Jasmine Moore and
Claire Bryant found success in jumps.
Jasmine Moore (6.64m/ 21'9.5") took first in a horizontal jump event yet again as
Claire Bryant (6.42m/ 21'0.75") also finished on the podium, placing third.
Men- A quartet of Gators took part in the men's long jump event.
Sean Dixon-Bodie put on a show again, placing fifth in his first career long jump with a mark of 7.84m/ 25'8.75".
Pjai Austin, jumping for the first time this season, placed sixth with a long jump of 7.83m/ 25'8.25".
Malcolm Clemons (7.78m/ 25'6.25") and
Jalen Chance (7.28m/ 23'10.75") finished eighth and fourteenth respectively.
200m
Women- Six Gator women's runners took part in the 200m race, the most Florida runners to take participate in any one event this year.
Talitha Diggs led the way, running a 22.65. Diggs' marked a new personal best and is only 0.02 seconds behind Kyra Jefferson's school record in the event.
Kynnedy Flannel (23.18, third) and
Laila Owens (23.40, fifth) rounded out the other Gators in the top-5 of the event.
Men- In the first non-pentathlon running event of the day, the Gators sprinters showed up.
Robert Gregory (20.74) and
Jacory Patterson (20.83) fought hard in their heat, finishing second and third in the men's 200m.
Ryan Willie finished seventh with a time of 21.02.
High Jump
Men- In his Florida Gator debut,
Corvell Todd finished fourth in the Men's High Jump (2.12m/ 6'11.5").
Distance Medley Relay (DMR)
Women- In the first opportunity to run this event this season, the team of
Imogen Barrett,
Vanessa Watson,
Gabrielle Wilkinson, and
Parker Valby set a new school record (10:57.58), finishing 1.19 seconds faster than the previous school best.

Alachua County Collegiate Invitational
Several Gators who did not travel to Arkansas took part in the Alachua County Collegiate Invitational on Thursday and Friday in Gainesville, Florida at the newly opened Jimmy Carnes Indoor Track & Field. Florida won three event titles at the Collegiate Invitational.
Emily Culley led the way for the Gators, placing first in both events she ran (women's mile and 1000m), running a personal best and facility record in the 1000m.
Reed Legg was the other Gator to win an event, finishing first with a time of 8:18.83 in the men's 3000m. Full results with times and places can be found below.
