No. 3/5 Gators Lead the Way at Day One of Georgia Invite

ATHENS, Ga. – After a 12-event finals session, both squads lead the way as the No. 3 Florida men's team finishes with 280 points and the No. 5 women's team lead the women's side with 292 points following the opening day of the Georgia Invitational.
The women had five first-place finishes, while the men followed with four.
Finals:
Women's 200 Free Relay
Florida's A team of Isabel Ivey, Bella Sims, Ekaterina Nikonova and Micayla Cronk racked up a season-best 1:27.18 to place first. Florida's B team came in 8th, while the C team came in 16th.
Men's 200 Free Relay
The A team of, Adam Chaney, Josh Liendo, Ed Fullum-Huot and Macguire McDuff finished in first after clocking a 1:15.65, just shy of the Gabrielsen Natatorium Record 1:15.43. Florida's B team came in 8th with a 1:18.21, and the C team finished in 15th.
Women's 500 Free
In the A-final Bella Sims earned the top-spot after cutting three-seconds off her preliminary time to touch the wall in 4:32.53. Emma Weyant, who cut four seconds off her preliminary time, finished in fourth with a 4:35.29. In the B-final, Anna Auld came in 12th after swimming a 4:42.81, just in front of Camille DeBoer's 4:43.95. Caroline Pennington's 4:44.45 put her right behind DeBoer for 14th. Elise Baur finished in 17th after posting a 4:44.64 and Julia Podkoscielny recorded a 4:51.89.
Men's 500 Free
After both tying for fourth in the prelims with a 4:15.21 time, Jake Mitchell and Oskar Lindholm finished in the top-five. Mitchell shaved nearly three-seconds off with a 4:12.55 to earn third, while Lindholm swam a 4:14.35 to finish in fifth. Giovanni Linsheer followed close behind, placing seventh with a 4:16.40. Eric Brown touched the wall in 4:16.16 in the B-final, followed by back-to-back finishes in 12th and 13th from Andrew Taylor (4:18.53) and Ayran Nehra (4:20.11) Jack Vandeusen came in 15th after swimming a 4:22.06, in front of Amadeusz Knop's 4:22.99. Placing 18th and 19th were Bobby Dinunzio (4:19.91) and Josh Parent (4:22.59), respectfully.
Women's 200 IM
Florida took two of the three top-spots, with Isabel Ivey placing first after recording a 1:54.18. Zoe Dixon finished closely in third with a 1:55.58. Aris Runnels swam a 1:58.12 to finish sixth in the A-Final. Molly Mayne shaved nearly two seconds off her prelim time, to earn ninth overall after posting a 1:57.95. Lainy Kruger followed in 12th with 1:59.36, while Catie Choate's 2:01.61 gave her 16th. In the C-Final, Anna Moore was the lone Gator who shaved two seconds off her prelim time to record a 2:00.35.
Men's 200 IM
Mason Laur led the Gators, finishing in seventh with a 1:45.39 in the A-final. Julian Smith's 1:43.83 gave him the top-finish in the B-final, ahead of Sean Sullivan's 1:44.51 time. Billy Jones clocked a 1:46.02 in the C-final, and Adam Chaney finished with a 1:48.38.
Women's 50 Free
Micayla Cronk zipped to a 21.97 first-place finish in the A-Final and Ekaterina Nikonova finished with a 22.47 time to come in eighth. Olivia Peoples (22.93) and Carly Meeting (22.97) went 14th-15th in the B-final.
Men's 50 Free
Josh Liendo has done it again, finishing first with an 18.61 to set a new Gabrielsen Natatorium record, which was set by Alabama's Robert Howard in 2019 with an 18.74. McDuff followed in second, posting a 19.28 time. Ed Fullum-Huot clocked a 19.69 in the B-Final, and Scotty Buff swam a 19.72 in the C-Final.
Women's 400 Medley Relay
The A team of Bella Sims, Molly Mayne, Olivia Peoples, and Isabel Ivey earned first, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of second with a 3:28.68 time. Florida's B relay team came in fifth after finishing with a 3:34.03. The C relay team tied for tenth with Michigan after posting a 3:37.22.
Men's 400 Medley Relay
In the final event of the night, Florida's Adam Chaney, Aleksas Savickas, Josh Liendo, and Macguire McDuff finished first with an A-cut time of 3:02.68. The B team of Jonny Marshall, Julian Smith, Scotty Buff, and Ed Fullum-Huot finished close behind in fourth, after recording a 3:05.83. The C team came in tenth with 3:09.99.
Men's 3-meter diving
Conor Gesing continues his successful rookie career, scoring a 343.40 to earn the top-spot. Elisha Dees recorded a 318.20 to finish in fourth.
