COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 5/6 Florida men's and women's swimming and diving teams added eight medals to their week, making it twelve through two days. After 15 events and two days of competition, Florida leads both on the women's side and men's side.

For the second consecutive year, the Gators set the 200 free relay SEC Meet record. Macguire McDuff, Joshua Liendo, Adam Chaney Alberto Mestre posted a 1:14.19, the second-fastest in school history, nearly breaking the 13-year NCAA record. Liendo clocked a second-leg split of 18.02, while Chaney's third leg split was 18.26 that pushed the Gators to the victory.

Florida dominated the men's 500 free, finishing with four of the top-five finishes, including gold for Jake Mitchell. Mitchell, who had the second-fastest prelim time, registered the third-fastest time in Florida history at 4:09.85, over three seconds faster then his season best. Alfonso Mestre put bronze around his neck at the end of the race after swimming a 4:10.15. Both Mitchell and Mestre had A-cut times. Giovanni Linscheer finished fourth with a 4:12.69, just ahead of Eric Brown at 4:12.95. In the B-final, Tyler Watson posted a 4:13.92, while Oskar Lindholm clocked a 4:16.67. Every Gator in the event secured B-cut times.

Liendo scored silver in the 50 free, posting blazing time of 18.39 for his third medal of the week. Chaney swam a career-best 18.71, earning bronze and an A-cut. McDuff went sub-19 seconds for the second time on the day, finishing at 18.99 and in fifth. Tennessee's Jordan Crooks earned gold, swimming a 17.93, becoming just the second swimmer ever to be under 18 seconds (Dressel, 17.63).

On the diving board, Maha Amer, who missed qualifying in the 3-meter yesterday, bounced back in a remarkable way, earning silver in the 1-meter with a 299.60. Amer, the school record holder in the event, tallied the first medal in diving this week for the Gators.

"It was more then a tough day yesterday," head diving coach Bryan Gillooly said. "It was a heartbreaker from both a mental and physical standpoint. She had a bad miss and psychology that does a lot of damage at a high level like this and under this kind of pressure. For her to bounce back, it took all day. She fought and she didn't give up. She got her confidence back and kept going with it and I could not be more proud of somebody in my entire coaching career, it was outstanding."

Emma Weyant won her second medal in as many days in the 500 free, securing a bronze medal for the Gators with a time of 4:37.96. Weyant's time was the sixth-fastest in Florida history, etching herself in the record book in only her third meet as a Gator. Tylor Mathieu finished in fourth behind Weyant at 4:39.21 for a B-cut.

In the first race of the night, Ekaterina Nikonova, Katie Mack, Talia Bates, and Micayla Cronk secured bronze in the women's 200 free relay, putting up a wicked 1:27.28
