GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After competing in two meets during the 2024 Indoor Season, the Florida Gators Men's and Women's Track & Field teams are ranked No. 6 and No. 3, respectively, in the Week 1 USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Coaches' Poll.
Florida's women are one of the top-three teams in Week 1 for the first time since 2015. The Gators have recorded seven national top-10 efforts early in the 2024 season headlined by a collegiate record in the 5000m by
Parker Valby (14:56.11). Other top-two efforts are credited to
Claire Bryant in the long jump (6.61m/21'8.25") and
Grace Stark in the 60m hurdles (7.97).
The men hold sixth place in the Week 1 rankings after recording four first place finishes at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational headlined by the third best collegiate mark in the long jump by
Malcolm Clemons (8.00m/26'3"), the fifth best 200m recorded by
Robert Gregory (20.47), and fourth best 4x400m relay (3:05.89).
