
Exactly two weeks after Head Coach Roland Thornqvist retires, Gators duo Rachel Gailis and Alicia Dudeney punch their ticket to the 2024 Regional finals.
Florida’s Gailis and Dudeney Advance to Regional Final

Atlanta, Ga. – Rachel Gailis and Alicia Dudeney will enter the 2024 ITA Regional Finals on a four-match win streak after defeating Florida International 6-1, 6-3 on Monday Morning.
Gailis and Dudeney served first in the semifinal matchup against Florida International and immediately took the lead with a 1-0 advantage. FIU retaliated by winning the second game 40-0 to tie the score at 1-1. From there the Gators separated themselves winning five games straight to take the first set 6-1.
The Gators' momentum carried into set two, breaking FIU's serve to start, followed by a service hold to garner a 2-0 lead. The Panthers' energy suddenly shifted in game three allowing them to win the following two games to tie it up at 2-2.
The two Florida-based teams were tied up a final time at 3-3 until the Gators pulled away to punch their ticket to the finals. The Florida duo won the following three games over Ekaterina Khairutdinova and Valery Gynina to stamp a final score of 6-1, 6-3.
Florida's Alicia Dudeney and Rachel Gailis will now compete in the ITA Southeast Regional Championship on a four-match win streak. The powerful duo will take on the fifth-seeded Aysegul Mert and Guillermina Grant from Georgia, on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
