Khan Sets School Record in Menโs Mile; Gators Conclude Action at Tyson Invitational and David Hemery Valentine Invitational
Saturday, February 10, 2024 | Track and Field
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - In their final live action before the Indoor Track & Field postseason, the Florida Gators Track & Field program continued their success which stretched across personal accolades, school history and top national marks.
The team completed eleven events across both the Tyson Invitational and David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 10. Outlined below are the headlines from the second day of action this weekend.
KHAN TOPS MILE TIME FROM PREVIOUS MEET
After landing on Florida's Indoor All-Time Top 10 List in the men's mile at the Razorback Invitational just two weeks ago, Parvej Khan has surmounted his previous best time with a new mark. Participating in the mile at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Khan crossed the finish line, with his chain clutched by his teeth, in 3:56.64. The freshman's new mark snaps a thirteen year old record previously held by Dumisane Hlaselo (3:56.84) and improves on his Indian National Record.
PANTOJAS CRACKS UF'S INDOOR ALL-TIME TOP 10
Another freshman enters the All-Time Top 10 list, this time in the 800m. Miguel Pantojas, running in the top section of the event, placed first overall and was clocked at 1:48.08, a new personal record for the freshman. He becomes the only Gator, besides Sam Austin, to enter the top ten since 2016 as he now stands in tenth on the list.
DIXON-BODIE AND VAN DAALEN IMPRESS IN SEASON DEBUT
Sean Dixon-Bodie and Alida van Daalen both made their 2024 Indoor debut on Saturday at the Tyson Invitational.ย
Dixon-Bodie, competing in the men's triple jump, performed a best jump of 16.07m/54'2" which placed the Bloomfield, Connecticut native second in the event. At the time of his final jump, Dixon-Bodie's mark stood as the seventh best in the NCAA in 2024.
Van Daalen, just like Dixon-Bodie, was able to capture a top placement in her event as well as in the nation as she participated in the women's shot put. The sophomore from Rotterdam, Netherlands threw 18.11m/59'5" which landed as the third highest mark across the nation this year.
4x400M EARNS SECOND BEST TIME IN NCAAย
Competing in what could be argued as the most competitive 4x400m relay heat across the entire NCAA in 2024, featuring Arizona State, Arkansas and LSU, the Florida Gators put together one of the best runs in school history. Reheem Hayles, Ashton Schwartzman, Jenoah McKiver and Jevaughn Powell recorded splits of 46.40, 45.64, 45.76ย and 44.99, respectively, which earned the quartet to a 3:02.78 finish. The time only trials four other marks in the history of Florida Indoor Track & Field. Additionally, the Gators claim the second best time in the nation only trailing the Arizona State Sun Devils who topped the Gators on Saturday by a margin of 0.05 seconds.

Said list includes Sam Austin, Caroline Bauer, Adrian Bichara, Kai Chang, Kayla Davis, Jess Edwards, Michael Fiore, Ethan Geiger, Layla Haynes, Noah Musselwhite, Gavin Nelson, Rylee Pustilnik, Lucinda Rourke, Breanna Stuart and Liina Winborn.
