GAINESVILLE, FL. – No. 16 Florida will host the No. 13 Auburn Tigers at Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on Friday evening. Doubles will go out at 5 p.m. with singles to follow. Florida is coming off a 5-2 home win against Tennessee and is looking to tally their third SEC win of the 2024 season.

GATOR SUCCESS
Sara Dahlstrom is currently the only undefeated Gator in SEC action (4-3, 3-0 SEC) and has two top-30 wins. Dahlstrom defeated No. 29 Mia Kupres from Texas A&M and most recently defeated Georgia's Alexandra Vecic ranked at No. 25.

Rachel Gailis (8-3, 3-1 SEC) has also secured two top-30 wins for the Gators. Gailis recorded both victories last weekend on Florida's home courts defeating No.29 Dasha Vidmanova of Georgia and Tennessee's No. 27 Sofia Cabezas.
 
ABOUT AUBURN
Auburn is currently ranked thirteenth in the nation with an overall 10-5 record and are undefeated in conference play at 4-0. The Tigers have defeated Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Arkansas, making Florida its first top-20 matchup since SEC play started.

Auburn has three ranked singles players on its roster and two ranked doubles teams. No. 14 Carolyn Ansari (8-3, 2-1 SEC), No. 64 DJ Bennett (10-4, 4-0 SEC), and No. 70 Ariana Areseneault (7-4, 3-0 SEC).

Ariana Aresenault and DJ Bennett are also ranked in the double's category at No. 19. Bennett has also been paired with Selin Ovunc for the Tigers this season and has secured a ranking of No.29.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gators will enter Friday's match with a 6-7, 2-2 SEC record after playing Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. Despite losing the doubles point to the Vols, Florida had a dominating performance in singles winning 5 of 6 matches to secure their second SEC win.

Qavia Lopez posted the first win for the Gators, defeating Esther Adeshina 6-0, 6-4. Carly Briggs snagged the second point for Florida, defeating Alana Wolfberg in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Alicia Dudeney followed posting a 6-3, 7-6 win against Catherine Aulia after Malwina Rowinska fell 6-3, 6-2 to Lauren Anzalotta. Sara Dahlstrom fought hard to clinch her victory against Elza Tomase with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win and to give Florida its fourth point of the day, 4-2.

The fifth and final point for Florida came from Rachel Gailis after splitting sets against No.27 Sofia Cabezas. The final score on court one was 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, extending Florida's lead to 5-2 and closing out against the Vols.

ITA RANKINGS
Florida finds itself ranked No. 16 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Three Gators are ranked in singles competition: Rachel Gailis at No. 45 , Carly Briggs at No. 79, and Sara Dahlstrom cracked into ITA rankings at No. 80.

The Gators Sunday match against Alabama has now been moved up to a noon start.
