Former Gators Tosti, Horschel finish in the top-10 at Texas Children's Houston Open
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Another great weekend for former Gators playing pro golf is in the books. The Gators had four alumnus finish top-10 or better across the PGA, Americas and Champions Tours.
PGA Tour Golfers
The Gators had three golfers on the PGA Tour this weekend. Alejandro Tosti (T-2), Billy Horschel (T-7) and Tyson Alexander (T-64) all competed in the Texas Children's Houston Open.
Tosti took the PGA world by storm this weekend finishing second at the Texas Children's Houston Open. The rookie went 11 under on the weekend, with four consecutive rounds of 68 or better. Tosti had a dominate performance, shooting a field best 22 birdies. The first year card holder moved into the top-100 in FedEX Cup rank thanks to his performance sitting at No. 93. Tosti has improved his ranking 88 spots since the start of the year.
Horschel recorded his second top-15 finish in as many weeks in Houston leaving T-7. The 15 year pro fired off three consecutive rounds under par (68,67,64) to finish the tournament including a field low round four score of 64.
PGA Tour Champions Golfers
The Gators had four golfers on the Tour Champions this weekend. Brian Gay (8th), Scott Dunlap (T-39), Chris DiMarco (T-60) and Mark Calcavecchia (T-75) all competed in the Galleri Classic in Rancho Mirage CA.
PGA Tour Americas
Yuxin Lin finished T-3 in the Totalplay Championship. The 2024 National Champion shot 12 under on the weekend including a field best 22 birdies. Lin is ranked sixth in Fornet Cup Rankings after two events.
What's Next
Four former Gators will compete at the Valero Texas Open this weekend. Billy Horschel (9:26 a.m.), Tyson Alexander (9:59 a.m.), Alejandro Tosti (10:21 a.m.) and Camillo Villegas (2:30 p.m.) will tee off in San Antonio.
The Korn Ferry Tour is back after a month long break. Ricky Castillo (1:28 p.m.), Fred Biondi (7:52 a.m.) and T.J. Vogel (2:10 p.m.) will suit up April 4 in the Club Car Championship in Savannah Ga.
The PGA Tour Champions is off for two weeks and will return April 19 for the Invited Celebrity Classic.
PGA Tour Americas will return on April 18 in the 69th ECP Brazil Open In Rio De Janeiro. Look for former Gators to tee off at the Rio Olympic Golf Course.
Florida Gators Men's Golf will travel to the Naples, Fla. for the regular-season finale at the Calusa Cup from April 7-9.

Gay continued a dominate 2024 season, recording his fourth top-10 finish in five events. Gay finished eighth in California, shooting nine under over three rounds, including a five under round four.
