Gracelyn Leiseth Crowned U.S. U20 Champion in Shot Put and Discus

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A week after competing in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, freshman Gracelyn Leiseth claimed two U20 Championships as she competed at the USA Track & Field U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
During Wednesday's Discus Throw competition, Leiseth set a new personal best of 54.72m/179'6" to claim the U20 Discus Championship. The freshman, who already stood at No. 10 on the UF All-Time Top 10 List with her previous best mark of 54.26m/178'0", moved up two spots to No. 8 after her performance.
The following day, the South Dakota native claimed the top spot in the Shot Put competition with a opening throw of 16.65m/54'7.50". Leiseth, who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the Shot Put, holds a UF All-Time Top 10 mark in the event as she has the fifth best throw in school history at 17.70m/58'1".
With both U.S. Championships under her belt, Leiseth advances to the 2024 U20 World Championships which is set to be held in Lima, Peru between August 27 and August 31.
