Horschel continues his climb while Castillo looks poised to earn PGA Tour Card
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The FedEx playoffs have officially started while the Korn Ferry continues to creep towards the end of their season.
PGA Tour Golfers
Billy Horschel continued his dominate back half of the PGA Tour season with a T-10 finish at the St. Jude Championship. Horschel got off to the quick start heading into the weekend at 7-under thanks to a 67 on Friday that saw the 15-year-pro rattled off three birdies to close out the round.
Horschel now safely sits inside the top 30 in FedEx Cup standings at No. 19 jumping four spots this week. The top-30 in the standings will advance to the FedEx Tour Championship held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
Korn Ferry Golfers
Ricky Castillo (T-2), Yuxin Lin (T-59), T.J. Vogel (T-59) and Fred Biondi (Cut) all competed in the Magnit Championship.
Castillo headlined the bunch this weekend notching his first career runner up finish shooting 15 under on the weekend. The 2022 National Champion started and ended the tournament hot, shooting a 6-under-66 on Thursday and a bogey free 67 on Sunday to secure the T-2 finish.
Castillo has now moved up 10 spots to No. 24 in the Korn Ferry Points List which puts him a a great position to earn his PGA Tour card for the 2025 season. The top-30 players in the points list earn their card via the TOUR Bound program.
PGA Tour Champions Golfers
Chris DiMarco (T-28), Scott Dunlap (T-57) and Mark Calcavecchia (T-68) tee'd off in the Rogers Charity Classic.
DiMarco put together three consecutive rounds under par to go 7 under in the weekend and secure his fifth top-30 finish of the season.
The Korn Ferry will be in Boise Idaho with Fred Biondi, Ricky Castillo, T.J. Vogel and Yuxin Lin in the field.
Chris DiMarco and Scott Dunlap will compete in the PGA Tour Champions Ally Challenge this weekend.
