Gators Set for Battle Against No. 15 Florida State
Thursday, January 30, 2025 | Men's Tennis
For the first time since 2015, the Gators and the Seminoles face off at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center
GAINESVILLE, Fla. –The Florida Gators men's tennis team is set to face in-state foe No. 15 Florida State on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center. While the two teams have traditionally met at the USTA National Campus in recent years, this will be the first time in a decade that the rivalry is played in Seminole territory.
The Gators look to build on their early-season momentum as they take on a tough Florida State squad in a highly anticipated road test.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gators are coming off of a challenging weekend in New York, taking one win against Middle Tennessee and one loss to then-ranked No. 7 Columbia during ITA Weekend. Florida picked up its first loss of the season moving to 2-1 in dual action.
HEAD COACH ADAM STEINBERG SAYS…
"We can't be more excited to compete against the Seminole's on Friday night. These rivalries are what makes college tennis so special and fun for our players. After a tough loss in the kick-off, it's always great to get back on the court and make the necessary adjustments to keep improving. It's important that we don't let their crowd dictate how we want to be and compete for each other and for the University of Florida!"
