Florida Volleyball Set to Honor Seniors in Friday Matchup Against No. 4 Texas

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida volleyball team is back in action at home this Friday, taking on No. 4 Texas inside the O'Dome. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. and will air live on the SEC Network with Sam Gore and Missy Whittemore on the call.

- With three conference matches remaining, Florida currently sits fifth in the SEC standings with an 8-4 record and the No. 4 seed for the 2025 Allstate SEC Volleyball Tournament
- In SEC play, the Gators rank fourth in kills per set (13.94) and fifth in assists per set (12.74), with Alexis Stucky standing third individually in league play at 10.66 assists per set. Florida also sits fifth in hitting percentage (.250), while Alec Rothe's .365 hitting clip sits sixth and Jaela Auguste's .352 ranks eighth in SEC play.
- Defensively, the Gators rank second in league play in digs per set (14.76) and is third in opponent hitting percentage (.210). Freshman libero Lily Hayes appears in the conference standings as well, ranking fourth individually with 3.92 digs per set.
- Outside hitter Jordyn Byrd was among 17 players added to the AVCA National Player of the Year Watchlist, presented by Nike Volleyball, joining the 30 nominees originally announced in August. The Sarasota native currently leads the Gators in kills (320) and points (344.0), while adding 43 blocks, having played only 21 matches in her collegiate career.
- Florida's middle blockers, Auguste and Rothe, have been dominant at the net throughout their sophomore campaigns, combining for 171 of Florida's 197 total blocks this season, with Auguste posting 87 and Rothe adding 84.
- Auguste also leads the Gators with a .354 hitting percentage and 25 aces, while ranking second overall in points (293.0) for the year.
- The Longhorns entered last week with an 18-0 record, but suffered back-to-back conference losses to No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 2 Kentucky.
- Texas leads the nation in kills per set (14.97) and assists per set (13.99), while ranking second in the NCAA with a .307 hitting percentage.
- In conference play, the Longhorns lead the SEC in hitting percentage (.321), assists (14.63 per set) and in kills (15.56 per set).
- Junior Torrey Stafford and freshman Cari Spears were both named to the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List. Stafford ranks 26th nationally in kills per set (4.39) and sixth in the SEC during conference play (4.56). She is also averaging 5.17 points per set in SEC action to rank fifth individually, while sitting 24th nationally in points per set (4.96). Spears recorded 228 kills, averages 3.56 per set and hit .317 in her first 18 collegiate starts. She has won the SEC Freshman of the Week five times, the SEC Player of the Week twice and was named the AVCA Player of the Week once.
- Ayden Ames is hitting .400 in conference play to rank fourth individually, while Stafford's .346 clip ranks 10th. Setter Ella Swindle sits sixth in the SEC in assists per set (9.88), and libero Emma Halter represents Texas in both digs and aces, ranking 10th (3.67) and seventh (0.33), respectively.
