COLUMBIA, S.C. —  The Florida men's tennis team fell 4-1 to No. 15 South Carolina on Saturday evening at the Carolina Tennis Center. The Gators claimed the doubles point with dominant play but couldn't sustain momentum in singles, dropping four straight matches to the Gamecocks.
Doubles Action:
Florida came out strong in doubles, securing the point with commanding wins on courts one and two. The No. 23-ranked duo of
Tanapatt Nirundorn and
Henry Jefferson led the charge with a 6-2 win over South Carolina's Lucas Da Silva and Connor Thomson on the top court.

Adhithya Ganesan and
Jeremy Jin matched the energy on court two, delivering another 6-2 victory over Atakan Karahan and Jelani Sarr to clinch the doubles point for the Gators.

The lone doubles loss came on court three, where
Kevin Edengren and
Ben Weintraub fell 6-1 to Sean Daryabeigi and Max Stenzer. However, Florida had already locked up the point, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Singles Play:
Despite the early advantage, Florida couldn't carry its doubles success into singles. South Carolina quickly responded with wins on courts three, two, four, and one to clinch the match.

The Gamecocks' first singles point came on court three, where No. 108 Sean Daryabeigi defeated No. 122
JanMagnus Johnson 6-1, 6-4. Shortly after, Lucas da Silva took down No. 73
Jeremy Jin 6-4, 6-3 on court two, giving South Carolina a 2-1 lead.

On court four, Atakan Karahan edged out
Henry Jefferson in a tightly contested match, taking the first set in a tiebreak before closing it out 7-6(2), 6-4. The match was then clinched by No. 27 Connor Thomson, who held off No. 43
Adhithya Ganesan 6-4, 7-6(6) on court one to seal the 4-1 win for the Gamecocks.

Unfinished Matches:
Two matches were left unfinished following South Carolina's clinch. On court five,
Kevin Edengren bounced back from a first-set loss to Jelani Sarr, winning the second 6-2 and leading 4-3 in the third before the match was called.

Rafael Segado impressed early on court six, taking the first set 6-2 against Gabe Avram. Although Avram responded with a 6-4 second-set win, Segado was up 2-0 in the third when play was halted.
