
Florida to Open SEC Tournament Thursday Evening

Gators enter the second-round familiar with both potential opponents Ole Miss and Arkansas
COLUMBIA, S.C.– Florida will begin its tournament run in the second round of the 2025 SEC Men's Tennis Tournament on Thursday, April 17. The Gators are set to face the winner of the first-round match up between Ole Miss and Arkansas at 6 p.m. at the Carolina Tennis Center.
Florida (13-10) enters tournament play on the heels of a competitive SEC schedule and will look to carry its momentum into the postseason. The Gators, who are 8-6 in conference play, posted regular-season wins over both potential opponents Ole Miss and Arkansas earlier this spring.
Against Arkansas, the Razorbacks took the doubles point but the Gators rolled through singles play to clinch the match 4-1. The next contest, UF faced Ole Miss and displayed another dominant showing defeating the Rebels 5-2.
Opponents at a Glance:
The Razorbacks closed out their regular season with a 17-13 overall record and 4-10 in conference play. Their last outing was a 4-0 victory against non-conference opponent Xavier. Arkansas is ranked No. 44 by the ITA and has one ranked singles player, No. 56 Lukas Palovic. The Razorbacks are also represented in doubles by Connor Smillie and Jkub Vrba at No. 56.
Ole Miss enter tournament play 12-13 overall and 2-12 in conference action. The Rebels' last contest was a 5-2 loss to Mississippi State. Ole Miss is ranked No. 55 by the ITA and is not represented in the singles or doubles categories.
