Gators Battle Bulls in First Round of NCAA Tournament

No. 29 Florida is set to face No. 27 South Florida in the Orlando Regional on Saturday morning
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators are set to compete against No. 27 South Florida in the Orlando Regional hosted by UCF on May 3. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m. at the USTA National Campus. Florida enters the competition with a 14-11 overall record and is coming off a 4-1 loss to South Carolina in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament.
NCAA Tournament History
The Gators' 2025 bid is the 42nd NCAA Tournament selection in school history, and extends Florida's active streak of 34 consecutive bids, which began in 1991. The Gators reached at least the round of 16 in 23 out of the 33 previous consecutive bids. Florida claimed the national title in 2021, the first in program history.
The Opponents
The Bulls enter the regional with a 20-4 overall record. The Gators hold a perfect 13-0 mark in the all-time series with USF. The last match between the two was a 4-1 win for Florida at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in 2023.
