
No. 18 Florida Falls Short to No. 9 UCF in 4-2 Loss

Florida moves to 24-3 overall against the Knights after a series of hard-fought matches.
ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 18 Florida Gators Men's Tennis team made the trip south to the USTA National Center to face the No. 9 UCF Knights. The two teams played several close tie break matches, but eventually the No. 9 Knights won out against the Gators.
The team lost the doubles point in their third straight match. The Gators started off good with a 6-4 win on court three by Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini against Nicolas Oliveira and Lucas Hotze of UCF. The pairing of Pablo Perez Ramos and Adhithya Ganesan saw their first loss of the season from Wissam Abderrahman and Mehdi Benchakroun on court two, falling 4-6. The new duo of Henry Jefferson and Lorenzo Claverie ultimately fell to UCF's Yassine Dlimi and Paul Colin in a tight 6-7 (7-9) match.
The Gators came out hot in singles, with four of the six courts winning the first set. Florida was able to even the score (1-1) with a singles win by Claverie on court three. Ganesan fell to Dlimi on court one, putting UCF up 2-1. Ramos claimed court four for the Gators after a three-set win over Colin, putting the Gators even 2-2. However, the Knights were able to clinch the 4-2 win with victories over Jefferson on court two and Timini on court five, leaving court six unfinished.
