No. 4/6 Softball Caps California Trip With 21-1 Oregon State Victory

The Gators finished their five-game trip to California with a 4-1 record, scoring a combined 76 runs with 86 hits, 15 home runs, 16 doubles and 28 walks. As a team, the Gators hit .515 on the weekend.
In her return to her hometown, Taylor Shumaker hit a team-best .714 (15-for-21) with four home runs, 19 RBIs, four doubles, four walks and 14 runs. The sophomore outfielder also slugged 1.476 over the five games.
The Gators recorded their 16th multi-home run of the season against the Beavers, with Madison Walker, Jocelyn Erickson, Kenleigh Cahalan, Kendall Grover and Shumaker each sending balls out of Anderson Family Field.
Florida has now hit five home runs in the same game three times this season,
Keagan Rothrock (11-1) went 3-1 on the weekend, finishing with a victory over Oregon State, tossing four innings with six strikeouts, allowing just two hits and one run.
NOTABLES:
- Gabi Comia became just the fourth Florida player to hit three doubles in the same game in program history and the second Gator to do it this weekend
- Ella Wesolowski had three doubles against No. 8/9 UCLA on Saturday, Nicole Kreipl hit three against Florida A&M on March 11, 2003, and Cheyenne Lindsey hit three against Georgia Southern on Feb. 21, 2021
- Comia also set a new career-best of four hits and four runs scored against the Beavers
- Taylor Shumaker matched her career-high of four hits vs. Oregon State, her second four-hit game of the weekend. She has recorded four hits three times this season
- She had four multi-hit games at the Judi Garman Classic and now has a team-high 13 multi-hit games on the season
- Shumaker has hit four home runs over the last five games, bring her season total to 10 and career total to 32
- Jocelyn Erickson hit her fourth home run of the weekend and 11th of the season against the Beavers
- With 41 home runs as a Gator, Erickson is now tied with Amanda Lorenz (2016-19) for eighth-most home runs in program history
- Erickson also had 14 RBI while in Fullerton, bringing her RBI total at Florida to 182, ninth-most in program history
- Keagan Rothrock recorded her 60th career win against Oregon State, moving into a tie with Beth Dieter (1997-00) and Chelsey Sakizzie (1997-98) for ninth-most career wins in program history
- Rothrock now holds a 60-17 career record
- Madison Walker has hit home runs in back-to-back games
- She also recorded three multi-hit games while in California
- Three Gators have now hit double-digit home runs this season: Erickson (11), Shumaker (10) and Kenleigh Cahalan (10)
- Cahalan has now matched her home run total from 2025
- Cahalan has reached base in all 24 games this season
- Townsen Thomas, Erickson and Cahalan are each on eight-game hitting streaks
- Florida has scored 20 or more runs three times this season and plated double-digit runs in 11 games
- The Gators recorded a season-high six doubles against Oregon State, their most since Feb. 28, 2025 Samford, exactly one year ago
The Gators open Southeastern Conference play with a three-game home series vs. Missouri on March 7-9.
