After a series of losses over the weekend, Florida drops to No. 23 in ITA rankings. However, four Gators receive a singles ranking and one doubles pair is ranked in the top 10.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Despite a series of close losses over the weekend, the Gators Men's Tennis program remains ranked in the top 25 at No. 23. Along with the team ranking, the program boasts four players ranked in singles, when only two held singles rankings prior to the start of the season and a doubles pairing ranked in the top 10.
For singles, Pablo Perez Ramos leads the charge being ranked at No. 32 when he was previously unranked heading into the spring season. Ramos is undefeated through five matches and remains the only Florida player to do so. Junior Adhithya Ganesan was another unranked player heading into the season, but jumped to No. 54 after having a 3-1 singles record. Henry Jefferson entered the dual season ranked at No. 115, but has since jumped to No. 50 after a 2-2 record including a win over USF's Ettore Danesi to clinch the home opener win. Junior Jeremy Jin also came into the spring season ranked at No. 33, but due to his absence on the courts he has since dropped to No. 43.
For doubles, the pairing of Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn maintained top 10 status, coming in at No. 10. The duo has yet to see a win on court one as a pair, but have played close matches against ranked opponents such as now No. 15 Luis Felipe Miguel/Erik Schiessl (FSU), No. 35 Jack Loutit/Eli Stephenson (Kentucky), No. 54 Nicolas Kotzen/Andrew Ena (Columbia) and No. 90 Hugo Car/James Newton (USF).
