
No. 22 Gators Take a 6-1 Victory Over No. 23 Ole Miss

The Gators are now 47-22 over the Rebels, improving to 8-8 on the season and 2-4 in the SEC to start the three-match weekend at home.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators three-match weekend started on a high note with a 6-1 win over the Ole Miss Rebels. The team almost took every court in the dual to secure the team's second SEC win.
The Gators took the doubles point to start the match. Court three finished first with Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini taking the 6-3 victory over Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin. Henry Jefferson and Jeremy Jin took their first ranked win together over No. 63 Pietro Pampanin and Stefano D'Agostino. Lorenzo Claverie and Pablo Perez Ramos manned court one for the first time this season and went 5-5 against Ole Miss's Kai Milburn and Isac Stromberg before the match went unfinished to head into singles.
Singles started strong for the Gators with wins on courts one, two, three and six to go up 5-0 over the Rebels. Timini finished on court six to get the first singles point for the Gators, winning 6-1, 6-4 over Loan Lestir. Ramos remains undefeated on court three going 6-3, 6-4 against Pietro Pampanin, while Jefferson is now 5-1 on court two going 6-4, 6-2 against Matthieu Chamonniere. Adhithya Ganesan took court one against Stefano D'Agostino 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. Court five is the only court the Gators gave up to the Rebels making it 5-1 after a three set match between Edengren and Noah Schlagenhauf. Jin fought his way back to take the final point for the Gators on court four, going 4-6, 7-6 (11-9) and 1-0 (10-4) to make the final score 6-1.

Florida will play a double header on Sunday, March 15 against No. 7 ranked Mississippi State and North Florida. The Gators will play the Bulldogs first at noon and will face the Ospreys at 5 p.m. EST. This is the second time the Gators will face the Bulldogs, with the last time out resulting in a 1-4 loss to then No. 7 ranked Mississippi State. The Gators are 44-24 against the Bulldogs and are 5-0 against the Ospreys.
