Hossam, Black advance at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. — Sophomore Brooke Black and junior Jana Hossam both notched wins in the consolation stages of the main draw at the 2026 ITA All-American Championships, Thursday.
Hossam, ranked 11th in the nation. picked up a straight set, 6-3, 7-5 win over Central Florida's Jantje Tilbuergers (#77), while Black (#82) took three sets to dispatch with Vanderbilt's Valeria Ray (#14), 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 for the highest-ranked win of her collegiate career.
Hossam is slated to takes on N.C. State's Lavinia Tanasie (#33), Friday, and Black squares off against Auburn's Ashton Bowers (#34). Both matches begin at 12:30 p.m. ET. Should they advance, both Black and Hossam's next matches would begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Florida's remaining three matches all went three sets, and unfortunately the Gators were on the short end of each — Georgia's Anastasiia Gureva (#38) bested junior Gabia Paskauskas (#30) 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3); Maryland's Oliwia Orlinska (#71) eked out a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory over freshman Capucine Jauffret; and fellow freshman Allegra Korpanec Davies (#98) fell to Texas A&M's Kristina Paskauskas (#49) 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6).
Wednesday, Sept. 23 Results
Paskauskas took on Duke's Mimi Xu (#81), but lost 6-4, 6-3. Korpanec Davies (#98) faced Auburn's Ashton Bowers (#34), but fell by an identical 6-4, 6-3 score. Black (#82) fared slightly better dropping a 6-4, 6-4 decision to Virginia's Katie Rolls, while Hossam (#11) came up short 6-2, 6-4 to Mississippi State's Gianna Oboniye, and freshman Capucine Jauffret dropped her match to Duke's Irina Balus (#7), 6-3, 6-2.
Tuesday, Sept. 22 Results
Korpanec Davies and Jauffret continued to shine Tuesday morning, as they both picked up three-set singles wins. Korpanec Davies dropped her first set to Texas A&M's Lexington Reed 7-5 before winning sets two and three 6-0, 6-3. .
Jauffret is living off of three-set wins in her brief collegiate career, as she upended Georgia's Nadia Lagaev 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
Black also opted to go the three-set route, dropping her first set to Wichita State's Xin Tong Wang 3-6 before winning the second 6-1. She trailed 4-3 in the third, but won three of the final four games to close out the victory.
The Gators' doubles tandems of Black and junior Nikola Daubnerova dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision to Oklahoma's Zoie Epps and Ounmuang, while Jauffret and Korpanec Davies' consolation round opponents withdrew due to injury prior to the start of the match.
Monday, Sept. 21 Results
Kopanec Davies picked up her first singles victory as a collegian Monday morning as she upended Wake Forest's Sankavi Gownder 6-2, 7-5 in the qualifying draw of the 2026 ITA All-American Championships. It was also the first win over a ranked opponent for the London native, as Gownder entered the tournament ranked No. 121 in the nation. Korpanec Davies was ranked No. 98 in the country in the preseason.
Later in the day, Jauffret picked up her third, three-set victory of the championships besting Michigan's Emily Sartz-Lunde. Jauffret won the first set over the No. 64 ranked singles player in the nation 6-3, but Sartz-Lunde flipped the script in set number two with a 6-3 decision of her own. Jauffret closed out the win by taking the third set 6-4.
Black (No. 82) joined them in the victory circle as she won her first qualifying draw match topping North Carolina's Theadora Rabman 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
On the doubles side, Daubnerova and Black upended Dartmouth's Michela Moore and Peyton Capuano 6-4, 6-3. Jauffret and Korpanec Davis fell to Wisconsin's Kaede Usui and Ellison Reynoldson 6-2, 2-6, 0-1 [6-10].

Jauffret improved to 2-0 at the 2026 ITA All-American Championships early Sunday afternoon following a 6-3, 6-7 (8-10), 6-4 victory over Furman's Elle Warren. It was a quick turnaround for her next match, however, and the Wilmington, Del. native dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Wisconsin's Lucie Urbanova.
Despite the defeat, Jauffret is advancing to the qualifying draw due to the Lucky Loser rule, which allows a player who loses in a knockout tournament to take a spot vacated by a player withdrawing from the subsequent round.
Daubnerova and Black advanced to the doubles qualifying draw by toppling San Diego State's Vessa Turley and Tea Lukic, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5). Senior Scarlett Nicholson and Hossam fell to LSU's Xi Ni and Tegan Bush in their Round of 16 prequalifying draw match 6-4, 6-4.
Saturday, Sept. 19 Results
Jauffret picked up her first career win as a collegian Saturday, battling back from a one-set deficit in her Singles prequalifying draw match to upend Virginia's Martina Genis Salas 4-6, 7-5, 6-0. Daubnerova also took part in the prequalifying draw Saturday, but fell to Louisville's Berta Miret 6-4, 6-3.
On the doubles side of the ledger, Nicholson and Hossam found themselves down a set in their afternoon prequalifying draw match against Oklahoma's Laura Brunkel and Chloe Noel. However, the Gators rallied for the 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8) victory. Daubnerova and Black picked up a straight-set sweep in their first-ever outing as a doubles duo, upending South Carolina's Francie Pate and Helena Buchwald, 6-2, 6-4.
About The ITA All-American Championships
The event runs from September 19-27 at the Cary Tennis Park, and has three stages of play — pre-qualifying, qualifying, and the main draw.
Prequalifying is slated for Sept. 19-20. In the singles draw, 20 players advance to qualifying, while eight teams advance on the doubles side of the ledger. The qualifying rounds last from Sept. 21-22. A total of 16 singles players advance to the main draw, while eight doubles teams do likewise. The main draw gets underway Sept. 23 and concludes Sept. 27.
In all, ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists) out of the event, and five doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
