AS A JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in 33 games for the Gators, including 5 starts…Pitched to a 6-3 record with a 2.29 ERA…Gave up 22 runs (20 earned) on 68 hits and 12 walks with 88 strikeouts in 78.2 innings pitched…Accumulated more innings than any other Gator who was primarily a reliever…Allowed opponents to hit just .235 against him…Recorded two saves on the season, including a one-inning save in the first game of the season against Florida Gulf Coast and a three-inning save against then no. 1 ranked Texas A&M…Only threw two wild pitches on the year…Pitched 15.1 innings in the NCAA Tournament and only allowed one earned run, good for an ERA of 0.60…For his efforts in the Gainesville Regional, he was named to the NCAA Gainesville Region All-Tournament Team…Named to the SEC Community Service Team…Chosen with the 29

AS A SOPHOMORE (2015): Made 16 appearances and 14 starts, tied for the second-most on the Gators with A.J. Puk…Turned in a 5-2 record and registered a 4.03 earned run average…Notched 55 strikeouts in 60.1 innings and held foes to a .213 performance at the plate…Was 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in eight SEC outings, seven of which were starts…Over 28.1 innings in league play, Dunning totaled 26 strikeouts…Started the third meeting with Virginia at the NCAA College World Series but was not involved in the decision after a 4.2-inning stint in which he gave up four hits and three runs…Closed the Gators’ CWS-opening victory over No. 8 Miami (FL) with a perfect ninth inning…Started the Florida’s first game of the SEC Tournament against Arkansas…Recorded a career-high eight strikeouts over four innings in the 5-1 win over USF…Held Mississippi State to one run over 5.1 innings in game two of the series in Starkville…Had five strikeouts in 4.1 innings during the nightcap of UF’s doubleheader at Ole Miss…Improved his record to 4-0 with five strong innings in the Orange and Blue’s third win over Maine…Completed the sweep of Stony Brook by working a career-high 6.2 innings in which he had four strikeouts and allowed zero runs…Defeated No. 8 Miami (FL) in the rubber game of the weekend series at McKethan Stadium with five no-hit frames in which he permitted an unearned run…Captured his first start of the season against Rhode Island on Valentine’s Day.
AS A FRESHMAN (2014): Appeared in 17 games, with one start, and was 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA…Struck out 31 batters in 24 innings and limited opponents to a .202 batting average…Saw action in seven SEC contests and went 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA…Threw three scoreless frames with four strikeouts during the NCAA Gainesville Regional against North Carolina…Set down both hitters he faced in the SEC Tournament final matchup with No. 8 LSU…Had three K in 2.2 shutout innings during the 4-3 victory at No. 20 Alabama…Finished the 8-1 triumph over Georgia with three strikeouts and zero hits allowed over 1.1 innings…Collected the win in the rubber game at No. 4 South Carolina (0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R)…Posted career highs in innings pitched (4.1) and strikeouts (5) in the finale with Arkansas…Completed the Gators’ triumph over Illinois State by striking out two of the three Redbirds he faced…Started against North Florida on Feb. 19 but was not involved in the decision.
SUMMER: Joined Gator teammate A.J. Puk on the Waterloo (Iowa) Bucks of the Northwoods League in 2014…Ranked as the No. 29 top prospect in the NWL by Perfect Game…In seven appearances, including six starts, Dunning was 3-3 with a 3.14 ERA…Registered 39 strikeouts in 43 innings…Worked seven full innings in three of his final four starts...Totaled a season-best eight strikeouts twice, against Mankato (7.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R) and Wilmar (7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R).
HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher from Clay High School who played for head coach Rob Thompson…Chosen in the 34th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 1,015th overall pick…Was named to Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Florida All-Region Second Team prior to his senior year…Ranked No. 40 in the state of Florida, No. 8 among right-handers in the Class of 2013 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Rated No. 490 in the 2013 Baseball America 500…Earned all-state honors in Class 5A and was Clay’s Athlete of the Year…Was 5-2 with a 1.27 ERA over 72 innings…Hurled five scoreless innings in the Region 2-5A quarterfinals as the Blue Devils cruised to an 11-0 victory over North Marion…Clay fell in the regional semifinal to eventual state semifinalist Creekside, 8-4…Dunning helped his squad advance to the Class 5A state semifinals as a junior…Worked 8.1 innings and allowed only five hits in the semifinal contest, with six strikeouts, in a 1-0 setback to Ponte Vedra.
