2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016 SEC Academic Honor Roll
AS A SENIOR (2016): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, an honor he earned in each of his four seasons in Gainesville…Appeared in 6 games for the Gators, as a pinch hitter and defensive replacement…Reached base once this season via walk and came around to score on an RBI groundout by Mark Kolozsvary in a 16-5 Gator win against Harvard…Only committed one error on the season while seeing action at first base and left field.
AS A JUNIOR (2015): Chosen to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third straight campaign…Appeared in 10 games and was 5-for-10 (.500) with four runs, two RBI and a double…Roped a pinch-hit, RBI single in the Gators’ NCAA Gainesville Regional opener against Florida A&M and scored on a double by JJ Schwarz…Drew a pinch-hit walk and came home on an RBI single by Harrison Bader in UF’s home victory over Stetson…Came through with a pinch-hit double in the ninth inning versus No. 8 Florida State in Jacksonville and scored on a grounder by Schwarz…Collected a pinch-hit, RBI single in his first at bat of the season against Rhode Island in the sixth inning on Valentine’s Day and added a single in the eighth inning to match his career high for hits in a game.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row…Saw action in 14 games and made four starts (three at designated hitter, 1 at catcher)…Hit .167 (4-for-24) with five RBI…Three of his four hits were doubles…Drew a pair of walks and scored a run…Narrowed the Gators’ deficit to 3-1 against the College of Charleston in the NCAA Gainesville Regional with a pinch-hit RBI grounder…Started the finale at Tennessee behind the plate…Opened the scoring in game three at No. 20 Alabama with a second-inning double that scored Braden Mattson…Doubled, scored and walked in the third meeting with Georgia…Delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single with the bases loaded as the Gators completed the sweep of No. 4 LSU…Walked with the sacks full in the victory over Illinois State.
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013): Chosen to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Played in 17 games and made eight starts as the Gators’ designated hitter…Batted .156 (5-for-32) with three RBI, two runs, a pair of doubles and a couple of walks…Was 5-for-26 (.192) in 13 SEC games and had seven starts…Saw action at third base against Florida A&M, was hit by a pitch and scored…Played in all three games during UF’s sweep of No. 8 South Carolina and went 2-for-6 (.333)…Singled into left field in the seventh inning of game two with the Gamecocks after contributing an RBI single in the opener…Was a career-best 2-for-3 in the finale against No. 11 Ole Miss, with a double to left field in the second inning and a base-hit into center field in the sixth frame…Had poked a two-run double down the right-field line for his first collegiate hit versus the Rebels the previous day…Scored in the eighth inning of the final meeting with Indiana in his first action at UF after reaching on an error.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Did not see any action in his first season on the Florida campus.
SUMMER: Has played for the Olean Oilers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League for the past three summers…Helped the Oilers to their first-ever league championship in 2015…Batted .302 in 27 regular-season games, with 17 RBI, 16 runs, 11 doubles and a grand slam…Went 6-for-21 (.286) in seven playoff games, drawing nine walks and scoring six runs…Chosen to the NYCBL All-Star Game in 2013 & 2014…Hit .325 in 43 games, with 25 RBI, 25 runs, 19 walks, 14 doubles, six stolen bases and three homers in ‘14…Was chosen as the second-team All-NYCBL catcher in 2013…Batted .250 overall in 38 regular-season games, with 22 RBI, 22 runs, 17 walks and four doubles…Hit .375 (6-for-16) in four playoff games and scored four runs as the Oilers advanced to the semifinals…Participated in the league’s All-Star Game held at McDonough Park in Geneva, N.Y.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Landy Faedo at Alonso High School…Hit .390 with 25 runs, 17 RBI, eight doubles and a homer in his senior year in 2011 as the Ravens claimed the Class 6A state championship...Earned all-state recognition, first-team all-county honors and played in the Pinellas-Hillsborough All-Star Game held at Tropicana Field…Member of Alonso’s first-ever state title-winning squad as a sophomore in 2009…Was one of 54 Hillsborough County public school students recognized at the 2011 Pepsi Scholar-Athlete Banquet for the work he did not only in athletics, but in the classroom…Also participated in the National Honor Society and Beta Club and was a member of Alonso’s football team.
