SUMMER: Competed for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod League last summer…In eight appearances, including three starts, Anderson was 0-2 with a 4.09 ERA in 22 innings and totaled 15 K…Started the opener of the CCBL Playoffs but was on the hook for the defeat to Bourne…Fired four shutout frames in a 5-2 win over Harwich…Notched six strikeouts and gave up one hit over five scoreless innings against Bourne…Played for the Lakeshore (Wis.) HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher from American Heritage High School who played for head coach Bruce Aven…Selected in the 40th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft by the Washington Nationals with the 1,216th and final pick of the three-day event…Named the 15th recipient of the annual MLB.com “Don’t Count Him Out Award,” marking the second year in a row that a Gator had earned the accolade after former Gator right-hander Eric Hanhold was tabbed in 2012…Was named to Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Florida Region First Team prior to his senior year…Ranked No. 30 in the state of Florida, No. 6 among right-handers in the Class of 2013 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…An all-state pick in Class 5A who was named the 2013 Miami Herald/Sun-Sentinel Broward County 5A-2A Pitcher of the Year…Anderson was 12-1 and registered a 1.10 ERA in 70 innings, with 94 strikeouts, three complete games and a pair of shutouts…Chosen to the MaxPreps 2013 Baseball Medium Schools All-American Team…Fired a four-hitter in the Region 4-5A semifinal as American Heritage blanked Jensen Beach, 10-0…Was 6-1 with a 0.77 ERA and totaled 74 strikeouts in 63 innings as a junior, when the Patriots claimed the Class 5A state title…Limited Tampa Jesuit to one hit over seven innings and retired the final 14 batters he faced during the semifinal round, a 3-0 victory…American Heritage went on to defeat Ponte Vedra, 9-0, to bring home the 2012 state title.
