CAREER: A redshirt junior walk-on linebacker who joined the team in the fall of 2005...Appeared in 34 games, mostly on special teams… Collected eight total tackles, five solo and three assisted.

2008: Dressed for all 14 contests and played in all but one game on special teams...Recorded his only tackle of the season in the opener against Hawaii.

2007: Appeared in 11 games as a key member on special teams… Did not see game action versus LSU and Georgia… Notched three tackles, one solo and two assisted… Was one of only two Gator linebackers to record a forced fumble, as he collected one in the victory over Tennessee on special teams… Blocked his first career punt on special teams versus Troy.

2006: Saw action on special teams as a member of the kickoff squad in 10 contests… Dressed but did not see action in both the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game and the SEC Championship Game… Dressed but did not play in the win over Florida State… Was chosen as the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week in helping the Gators prepare for Vanderbilt… Came up with a solo stop in the team’s 26-7 win over Kentucky… Notched a tackle on the kickoff team versus Tennessee… Made his first two career tackles in the win over UCF.

2005: Did not see any game action and was a member of the scout team.

PREP: A four-year starter who played defensive end and middle linebacker at Blanche Ely High School… Led the team with 117 tackles during his senior year and was named team captain… Also played volleyball.

PERSONAL: Was born on Nov. 8, 1986… His parents are Rodney and Diana Blackett… Graduated high school with a 3.75 grade point average.
