NCAA Championships: Four-time All-American… earned an All-American status after competing in the ‘A’ final of the 100-yard freestyle and finishing sixth overall on a time of 47.59… brought home individual Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 50 Free after clocking a 22.15 to finish tied for 12th overall… received Honorable Mention honors as a member of UF’s 400 and 800 Freestyle Relay teams, registering a 14th-place finish on the 400 FR (3:15.07) and 16th-place showing in the 800 FR... placed 17th in the 100-yard Butterfly event, touching the wall at the 52.41 mark… took 19th in the 200-yard freestyle relay, boasting a time of 1:29.95… rounded out her week at the NCAA Meet with a 26th-place finish in the 400-yard Medley Relay (3:37.73)… SEC Championships: Brought home Top-10 finishes in all seven events she competed in… was crowned an SEC Champion in the 100-yard freestyle after touching out with a time of 47.35… also qualified and competed in the ‘A’ final in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay (3rd, 7:03.44), 50-yard freestyle (4th, 22.06), 200-yard Freestyle Relay (6th, 1:29.97), 100-Yard Butterfly (5th, 51.87), 400-yard Medley Relay (10th, 3:38.60), and 400-yard Medley Relay (3rd, 3:14.49)… totaled 273 of UF’s 754 team points… participated in all 10 of Florida’s regular-season dual meets... and totaled 40 wins (24 individual)… Honors: Named the SEC Swimmer of the Week following a four-win performance in UF's 192-108 win over the No.10 Auburn Tigers on Jan. 23… named to All-SEC First Team… was a 2015-16 Winter Academic Honor Roll selection…
2014-15:
NCAA Championships: Earned three All-American honors, as she finished third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.19), fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (51.30) and was a member of UF’s 7th-place 400-yard freestyle relay squad (3:14.27)… In the 100-yard freestyle, Hinds along with two swimmers from Stanford became the first African-American swimmers to place in the top three in a single event at any Women's Division I NCAA Championship… A feat recognized by the national governing body of swimming in the United States... SEC Championships: Won her second-career SEC Championship as she placed first in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.26 seconds… Also placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (51.70), sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (22.13), and was a member of the Gators runner-up 400-yard freestyle relay (3:14.12), fifth place 200-yard medley (1:37.12), sixth place 200-yard freestyle (1:29.43) and seventh place 400-yard medley (3:34.76) relay squads… Finished with 18 individual wins and was part of 14 first-place relay teams during the dual meets and invitational competition… Honors: Three-time All-American… SEC Champion… First Team All-SEC… SEC Academic Honor Roll Selection.
National/International Competition:
Participated in five events at the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine, Calif. and recorded three personal-best times… Competed at the 2013 U.S. Nationals in the 50 fly and took seventh… Participated in the 2012 USA Olympic Team Trials… Finished third at both the 2010 Summer and Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 fly.
2013-14:
NCAA Championships: Earned six All-American honors, including three individual accolades in the 100-yard freestyle (47.40 UF - record), the 50-yard freestyle (21.66 – UF record), and the 100-yard butterfly (52.33)… In relays, Hinds was a member of the 200-yard medley relay that took third (1:35.42), the 400-yard medley relay that placed fourth (3:29.67) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:12.44) that finished fifth… In addition, she was a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that took ninth (1:27.54) … All four relay times were UF records … SEC Championships: Finished third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.71) and fourth in both the 50-yard freestyle (21.91) and 100-yard butterfly with a personal-best time of 52.32… In relays, Hinds was a member of UF’s third place 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:14.11) and the Gators 200-yard medley relay squad that clocked a time of 1:36.20… Won 13 individual and 14 relay events during dual meets and invitational competition throughout the regular season… Honors: Six-time All-American… 2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
2012-13:
NCAA Championships: Earned seven All-America honors, which tied for the team lead… Placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a UF-record time of 47.73 seconds and finished ninth in both the 100-yard butterfly (51.89) and the 50-yard freestyle (22.12)… In addition, Hinds was a member of the school-record-setting 400-yard freestyle relay… SEC Championships: Named SEC Female Freshman of the Year after winning her first SEC title in the 100-yard butterfly in a personal-best time of 51.70 seconds... In addition, she placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.95), seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (22.26) and was a member of the team’s school record setting 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay teams... Won a pair of races in his Gator debut at the All-Florida Invitational, as she placed first the 100-yard butterfly (53.99) and in the 50-yard freestyle… Won 11 individual events during dual meets and invitational competition throughout the regular season… Honors: Seven-time All-American… SEC Champion… First-Team All-SEC… SEC Freshman of the Year.
Prior to Florida:
CollegeSwimming.com’s No. 1 recruit out of Texas and their No.13 recruit in the 2012 class… Named the Female Swimmer of the UIL Class 5A 2011 meet… Broke two district records in 2011 in the 100 fly and back… Coach in high school by John Bettina … Chose Florida over USC, Arizona and Texas… Parents are Melvin and Claudia… Has one sibling, Loren.
MAJOR: Received Telecommuncation degree in December 2016.
