Hannah Smith joined the University of Florida Athletic Communications staff in July 2026 as a Communications Assistant serving as the primary contact for men's tennis and secondary contact for women's basketball.
Prior to Florida, Smith served as a secondary communications contact for the University of North Carolina women's basketball program, where she wrote game recaps, assisted with game notes and supported media operations. She also assisted with media relations for the 2026 NCAA Chapel Hill Baseball Regional and Super Regional, helping coordinate interviews, press conferences and credentialing.
Smith also interned with Little League International in media relations where she wrote press releases and feature stories for national audiences, coordinated media requests and interviews, and credentialed and assisted with the oversight of hundreds of media members for the Little League Baseball and Softball World Series, working with both domestic and international media throughout the tournament.
Before joining North Carolina athletic communications, Smith was an athletic communications and operations intern with Durham Academy, supporting communications for 20 varsity sports through game day operations, social media and event coverage.
Smith graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with bachelor's degrees in Sport Administration and Media and Journalism with a certificate in Sport Communication.
A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Smith enjoys reading and spending time at the beach.
