AS A FRESHMAN (1985) - A standout balance beam performer for the Gators…captured the Southeastern Conference beam title and finished second in that event at the 1985 NCAA Southeast Regional meet…averaged a 9.50 on the balance beam, with a season-high mark of 9.70. PRIOR TO FLORIDA - A former member of the USA National Elite team, Goodwin finished 17th in all-around at the 1984 Championships of the USA and 20th in all-around at the 1984 US Olympic Trials…placed third in all-around at the 1984 USA Team Championships and won the all-around semifinal competition at the 1983 USA Team Championships meet…competed in the Championships of the USA meet several times, finishing sixth in the 1983 all-around, fifth all-around in ’82 and third in the 1981 meet…competed internationally as a member of the 1981 and ’83 World Championship teams…a USA team member since 1981, Goodwin became the first American to win a gold medal in Hungary, finishing first in both the bars and floor exercise events at the 1982 Hungary International meet…1982 USA team member for a dual meet against the Soviet Union held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. PERSONNEL- Graduate of Reading High School. MAJOR - Physical therapy.
