The University of Florida men's tennis team put on a strong performance on the first day of the Seminole Invitational hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday.
Junior Erik Corace (Naples) and freshman William Federhofer (North Miami) both went 2-0 in singles action, while junior No.117 Johnny Hamui (Wesley Chapel) and senior Daniel Cash (Oslo, Norway) each won one of two on the day. All four Gators competed in the Singles “A” Draw.
In all, Gator players won six of their eight matches on the day, and each win came in straight sets. Both UF losses were hotly contested affairs, as Hamui and Cash each fell in a third-set tiebreaker.
