
Three Gators Advance to Singles Quarterfinals at SEC Fall Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Florida men's tennis teams competed at the SEC Fall Classic on Friday in Auburn, Ala. Elliott Orkin, McClain Kessler and Josh Wardell all advanced to the quarterfinal rounds in their respective flights.
Orkin defeated Conner Huertas of Auburn in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 and then went on to beat Jack Schipanski of Tennessee, 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Kessler was victorious in straight sets against Dante Saleh of Auburn 6-1, 6-2. Kessler then battled through a three set match against Vaughn Hunter of Mississippi State, 7-6, 1-6, 6-3. In the Flight B round of 16, Wardell defeated Alex Ross of Vanderbilt, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
In other singles action, Maxx Lipman fell to Cameron Klinger of Vanderbilt, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Jordan Belga was defeated by Jack Heslin of Tennessee, 6-2, 6-1.
In each of the flights of doubles, the Gators received a bye and will begin competition tomorrow morning.
