
Orkin Advances to Singles Final at SEC Fall Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Florida men's tennis team had success on the singles court this afternoon at the SEC Fall Classic. Junior Elliott Orkin advanced to the finals of the singles flight A draw with two victories on Saturday.
Orkin defeated Harrison O'Keefe of South Carolina in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals. The next round saw the Gator defeat Thomas Mayronne of Tennessee, 6-3, 6-2. McClain Kessler fell to Tennessee's Luis Valero in the same flight in the quarterfinal round, 6-3, 7-5. Junior Maxx Lipman advanced to the singles consolation final with his win over Hunter Vaughn of Mississippi State, 6-4, 7-5.
In the singles flight B quarterfinals, Josh Wardell fell to Will Albanese of Arkansas, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Jordan Belga advanced to the singles consolation final with a win over Tate Alwardt of Vanderbilt, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action, both Gator tandems advanced to the semifinals in their respective flights. Lipman and Orkin defeated Huertas and Dooren of Auburn, 8-4. Kessler and Wardell defeated another Auburn duo in Chandrasekar and Sivalls, 8-2.
The Gators continue play in the final day of the SEC Fall Classic on Sunday morning.
