
Orkin Wins Singles Title at SEC Fall Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Florida men's tennis team had another successful tournament this weekend at the SEC Fall Classic at Auburn University. Junior Elliott Orkin won the flight a singles title with a victory this afternoon.
Orkin used a straight set win to take the title over Rishab Agarwal of Mississippi State, 6-0, 7-5. Sophomore Jordan Belga took the flight b singles consolation final after falling in the first set to Alabama's Langford Hills. The Gator battled back in the match to win, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. McClain Kessler picked up another singles win of his young, Gator career over Alex Ross of Vanderbilt, 6-4, 6-2.
Doubles action saw Josh Wardell and Kessler advance to the flight b final with a win over Friedrich and Schafer of South Carolina, 8-6. The Gator tandem fell in the final round to Vanderbilt's Valent and Klinger, 8-5. Juniors Orkin and Maxx Lipman saw their doubles run end in the flight a semifinals to Schipanski and Valero of Tennessee, 8-4.
The Gators will now head back to Gainesville and will not compete until November 9.
