Gators Finish Strong at the Napa Valley Tennis Classic

ST.HELENA, Calif. – The upperclassmen of the University of Florida men's tennis squad finished the Napa Valley Tennis Classic strong on Sunday. The Gators were able to come out victorious in three singles matches.
Three Gators defeated USTA juniors on the final day in California. No. 33-ranked Diego Hidalgo was a straight-set winner in his match against JJ Wolf, 6-4, 6-3. Elliott Orkin took down Oliver Crawford in a three-set match, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Senior Gordon Watson defeated Zeke Clark, 7-6(4), 6-4. Maxx Lipman fell to Texas's Liam Caruana, 6-2, 7-6(5).
Coach Merklein's thoughts about the day:
“It was a great day all around. Like I said yesterday, this is a very resilient group. They gained a lot from this weekend and are looking forward to the next challenge.”
