Gators Set to Host Auburn on Senior Day
Friday, January 22, 2016 | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving
Florida will host Auburn at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The fourth-ranked University of Florida men's and 11th-ranked women's swimming and diving teams return to the pool Saturday, January 23, at 11 a.m. ET when they host SEC rival Auburn inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida on Senior Day. Diving events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET with the Senior Day Ceremony beginning at 11:15 a.m.
"Auburn is always a good competitive team," said UF Head Coach Gregg Troy. "It's a good opponent to be swimming against this time of the year. They've been good in the fall and carried that success into the spring. They're a talented group of swimmers across the board and they don't have any specific weaknesses no matter where you look. Overall it should be a good matchup.
"It will also be a good opportunity to race a competitive opponent as we near the end of the regular season. We'll see where we're at from an execution standpoint and clean up any mistakes that need to be corrected as we work towards the postseason."
