The Gator sophomore earned an impressive straight-set win on Wednesday.
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Anna Danilina posted a straight-set victory at the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday that earned the Gator sophomore a spot in the coveted main draw of the individual national event.
At the Riviera Country Club, Danilina polished off Stanford's No. 48-ranked Caroline Doyle, 6-4, 7-5, in the third and final round of the qualifying portion of the tournament.
Danilina joins Gator teammates Kourtney Keegan and Belinda Woolcock, both of whom earned automatic berths in the 32-player main draw that begins Thursday.
Earlier Tuesday, Danlina paired with Spencer Liang in the second round of the qualifying doubles draw and dropped an 8-6 decision to Mississippi State's Lee and Rioux.
Josie Kuhlman, who advanced to the qualifying draw after an impress three-match run through prequalifying action, dropped her opening-round, three-set bout, but rebounded in her backdraw match later in the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Maeva Razakasoa of Long Beach State. Kuhlman met South Carolina's Paige Cline on Wednesday and the outcome of that match was not available at the time of this release.
