Florida and Tigers Set for Top-20 Match Up in SEC Quarterfinals

BATON ROUGE, La. - The No. 3 University of Florida women's tennis team begins the 2016 SEC Women's Tennis Tournament in the quarterfinal round with the No. 20 LSU Tigers. The Gators are the No. 1 seed in the tournament after finishing the 2016 SEC regular season with a perfect 13-0 record.
LSU defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in a dramatic fashion, 4-3 on Thursday afternoon in front of their home crowd. The Gators completed the regular season by sweeping three of their opponents.
UF will compete with LSU on Friday at 3 p.m. ET at the LSU Tennis Center with a chance to advance to the semifinals where they were upset by Vanderbilt in last year's SEC Tournament.

Florida defeated the Tigers, 6-1 on March 31st in Gainesville. After grabbing the doubles point, the Gators secured five singles victories on their way to another SEC win at the Ring Tennis Complex.

UF is 70-9 all-time in the SEC Tournament and 27-1 in quarterfinal matches. The Orange and Blue have won 19 tournament titles in the 28-year history of the event.
