SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – The University of Florida track and field program saw four Gators combine for six medals at the North America Central America Caribbean Under-23 Championships this past weekend. Sprinters Robin Reynolds and Shayla Sanders also helped the United States' 4x100 relay team break a six-year-old meet record.
Sanders had the highest individual finish among Gators in El Salvador. The Pompano Beach, Fla. native claimed a silver medal in the 100 meters.
Rising juniors KeAndre Bates (long jump) and Darrielle McQueen (triple jump), and Reynolds (200 meters) all took home bronze medals in their individual events.

Reynolds and Sanders ran the first two legs for Team USA's 4x100 relay, which took the gold medal in 42.93 seconds. The time broke the previous meet record of 43.07, which was set back in 2010.
Florida will next see Connor Bandel (United States), Yanis David (France), and Brandee' Johnson (United States) compete at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The three Gators open competition on Wednesday, July 20. Information on World Juniors can be found below the NACAC U23 Championships results.
Also in international competition, the 13 UF track and field Olympians will begin competition in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, August 12.
