The 30 qualifiers are the third-most for a Gator contingency at the Olympic Games.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida will be well represented at the 2016 Olympic Games, where 30 Gators have qualified to compete in Rio De Janeiro.

Florida's Rio Roster Review:
- 30 Gators have qualified to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games (Marquis Dendy (USA) had made the USA Track & Field Olympic Team, however, an injury prior to Rio forced his withdraw. He is not counted among the 30 Gators.)
- The 30 qualifiers are the third-most for a Gator contingency at the Olympic Games: 35 Gators competed in 2008 Beijing and in 2012 London
- Gators will compete in four (4) different sports at the 2016 Olympic Games: Golf, Volleyball (Indoor), Swimming and Track & Field
- 15 of those 30 Gators are first-time Olympians: Andres Arroyo (PR), Aury Cruz (PR), Mitch D'Arrigo (ITA), Caeleb Dressel (USA), Sandra Gal (GER), Arman Hall (USA), Eddie Lovett (Virgin Islands), Corey Main (NZ), Kelly Murphy (USA), Eduardo Solaeche-Gomez (ESP), Jan Switkowski (POL), Rex Tullius (Virgin Islands), Dan Wallace (UK), Pawel Werner (POL), Stipe Zunic (CRO)
- If all 15 of those first-time Gators do compete at the 2016 Olympic Games, then the total number of Gator Olympians increases to 178
- 2 Gators are making their FOURTH Olympic Games appearance: Ryan Lochte (USA Swimming) and Novlene Williams-Mills (Jamaica Track & Field)
- 5 Gators are making their THIRD trip to the Olympic Games: Elizabeth Beisel (USA Swimming), Kerron Clement (USA Track & Field), Melani Costa-Schmid (Spain Swimming), Omar Pinzon (Colombia Swimming) and Sebastien Rousseau (South Africa Swimming)

Recognizing Ryan
- Ryan Lochte, 32, will be the second-oldest male Olympic swimmer from the USA since 1924.
- Ryan will be competing in his fourth Olympic Games, with only Dara Torres and Liston Bochette having qualified for more (5 each)
- He has won 11 Olympic Medals, the second-most by a Gator
