Gators Throwing at Virginia Tech “Doc Hale” Elite Meet This Weekend

Florida's throwers are the only group competing this weekend
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Florida's throwers will take center stage this weekend, as it is the only group set to compete at this weekend's (Feb. 2-3) Virginia Tech "Doc Hale" Elite Meet.
The Gators' top throwers this season, to this point at least, are Lloydricia Cameron (shot put) and AJ McFarland (weight throw). Cameron enters this weekend ranked sixth nationally in her main event, while McFarland ranks tied for ninth on the men's side.
Cameron, redshirt sophomore Jontavia Dykes and freshman Amara Wiggan all notched personal records in the weight throw two weeks ago at the Hokie Invitational (Jan. 20-21). Freshman Connor Bandel also posted a shot put personal record at the Hokie Invitational, the most recent meet for UF's throwers.
Only the top 16 marks following the conference championship meets qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
