Gators Continue Their SEC Run With a Win Over Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 16 Florida Gators handled the Ole Miss Rebels on Thursday afternoon 5-2 as they continue to fight through SEC play. The Rebels took the lead early on in doubles play but the Gators regained their momentum and earned their victory during singles play.

In doubles play, Florida's Maxx Lipman and Elliott Orkin fell to Ricardo Jorge and Zvonimir Babic 6-2. Alfredo Perez and Johannes Ingildsen fought to regain Gator momentum but could not pull out a win against the Rebels' Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton. The Gators gave up the doubles point and looked to regain during singles.

In singles play, the Gators came out victorious. Joseph Guillin, Perez-Blanco, Lipman and Perez swept their Rebel opponents finishing all of their matches with two sets. Ingildsen fought hard in court 4 playing out his match after and extending the Gators win to 5-2. .
Guillin made a statement during his freshman debut against the Rebels, handing his opponent a 6-1, 6-2 loss and finishing his dual match first. Guillin notched the first match point for the Gators helping in their SEC win.
