Gators’ Distance Corps Opens at Commodore Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Florida track and field's distance corps will open its 2018 season at this weekend's Commodore Invitational, hosted by Vanderbilt University.
The group includes the men's 800 meters trio of Sam Ahrenholz, Kyren Hollis and Justin Pacifico. Redshirt sophomore mid-distance runner Jack Guyton, an NCAA East Preliminary qualifier in the 1,500 meters last year, opens his season in the 800 meters, and will likely run as part of Friday night's distance medley relay team.
For the women, redshirt junior Lauren Perry returns to the track in the 800 meters, while redshirt sophomore Caitlin McQuilkin-Bell will run the first 800 of her career. Both are expected to be part of the Gators' DMR team Friday.
Several Gators opened their campaigns at the Orange & Purple Classic last weekend.
