Gators Begin Weekend West Coast Swing

Florida plays at St. Mary’s on Friday and at Stanford Saturday.

MORAGA, Calif. – Florida returns to the court for the first time in 12 days and continues its nine-match road swing at Saint Mary's on Friday at 4 p.m. ET, before playing at Stanford on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

The Gators (3-4) enter the weekend aiming to halt a two-match slide, having dropped thrillers at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships to No. 1 Vanderbilt and No. 7 Georgia Tech.

A Glance at Friday's Match vs. Saint Mary's (4-4)

Where: Timothy Korth Tennis Complex • Moraga, Calif.
Series: Florida won the only match played against Saint Mary's, earning the 4-0 decision on Feb. 22, 2014, that also was the first part of a West Coast swing that ended with a match at Stanford.
Team Ranking: The Gaels are ranked No. 45 in the current ITA national rankings.
Individual Rankings: Doubles – Mariia Kozyreva & Hind Abdelouahid are No. 35
Of Note: Saint Mary's (4-4) rides a four-match win streak into Friday's match. The team has already played a trio of top-10 teams (at the time of the match) in Texas Tech, UCLA and Stanford.

A Glance at Saturday's Match vs. Stanford (3-2)

Where: Taube Family Tennis Stadium • Stanford, Calif.

Series: Stanford holds the 21-16 advantage in the series between the two national powers, including a 7-1 record at home. The Gators won both meetings last season that included 4-1 decision in the national championship match.
Impressive: Six of the last eight NCAA Championships have been won by these two teams.
Team Ranking: The Cardinal are ranked No. 36 in the current ITA national rankings.
Individual Rankings: Singles – Michaela Gordon is No. 19, Emily Arbuthnott is No. 31; Doubles – Arbuthnott and Gordon are No. 1
