GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida men's tennis team will be on the road for the next month, and their journey begins in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday when they take on the 13th ranked Wolverines at 6 p.m.
The Gators (3-1) match with Michigan (3-1) will be the second straight match for Florida against a ranked opponent. Florida's only other match against a ranked team was against No. 14 Florida State in Orlando.
Head coach Bryan Shelton has made winning the doubles point, a point of emphasis all season and it shows. In the four matches, this season UF has won the doubles point in all three of their team wins. The Gators have been solid at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles all year but only the duo of Oliver Crawford and Chase Perez-Blanco (3-1) have factored into each decision this season.
Last Saturday freshman Duarte Vale earned his first career singles victory against Florida State. Vale defeated Jose Garcia 6-4, 6-3.
