Florida's men have won the last two NCAA Outdoor Championships and won the NCAA Indoor Championships a little over two weeks ago. The Gators' women are coming off a fourth-place finish at NCAA Indoors, and took fifth at last year's NCAA Outdoors. The men and women enter the week ranked fourth and eighth, respectively, in the preseason national rankings.
An additional seven men's teams and seven women's teams head to Gainesville ranked in the preseason top 25.
This week will serve as the opener in primary events for numerous Gators, including defending national champions Bates (long jump, triple jump) and Holloway (110-meter hurdles). Florida's school record-breaking indoor 4x400 relay teams will make their outdoor debuts as well.
And the men's 4x4, given their success indoors, has a legitimate chance to challenge the outdoor school record of 2:59.73—which is the third-fastest time in collegiate history—set at the 2014 Pepsi Florida Relays.
As far as Gator alums go, two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time World Champion Kerron Clement, 2016 World Indoor Championships gold medalist Marquis Dendy, collegiate record holder Kyra Jefferson, 2013 World Championships qualifier Cory McGee, two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time World Champion Christian Taylor, as well as 2016 Olympic 4x400 relay gold medalist Arman Hall are among the notable entrants competing at the Relays.
Friday's and Saturday's action will be streamed live on SEC Network +, via Watch ESPN. Results are provided by Delta Timing. Links to follow Pepsi Florida Relays via those mediums are listed below.
In other Gators' track and field action this week, heptathletes Amanda Froeynes and Nikki Stephens will compete at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Wednesday and Thursday. The schedule for that event is also below.
