LAKE NONA, Fla. – Florida men's tennis will hit the road for the first time this spring. The Gators travel to Orlando for a match with UCF, Thursday, at the USTA National Campus.
This will be the No. 4 Gators' first of seven road matches scheduled in the next month.
Florida started the season 2-0 following a 4-0 decision over William & Mary and a 4-1 victory over FAU. With the win over FAU, the Gators earned a bid to the ITA National Indoor Championships in Chicago.
Sophomore Oliver Crawford and freshman Sam Riffice had an impressive start to their season in both singles and doubles. The duo went 2-0 in the ITA Kickoff event and only dropped one point. Crawford started at the No. 1 singles position for the Gators and went 2-0. Riffice played No. 3 and was nearly perfect on Saturday against William & Mary, winning his first dual match 6-1, 6-0.
UCF has started the season 0-3 with tight losses to Arkansas, Stanford and Minnesota.
