
Gators Travel to Arkansas to Open SEC Play

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Gators are hitting the road again, this time for the SEC opener.
No. 10 Florida opens SEC play in Fayetteville against the Razorbacks (10-4, 1-0) at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday. Live scoring will be available as the Gators conclude their month-long road trip.
Florida finished its nonconference schedule at 6-2, while Arkansas was 9-4 going into league matches. In the 2019 SEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Florida was selected to win the conference and Arkansas was chosen to finish 11th.
Florida suffered its' first two losses of the season at the ITA Indoor National Championships last weekend. The Gators fell to a pair of Pac-12 ranked teams in USC and Stanford.
The Gators hold an impressive 30-2 series lead over the Razorbacks. Florida and Arkansas have met in Fayetteville 13 times and the only blemishes in the record have come on the road.
Florida has won two of the last three meetings. The Gators beat the Razorbacks 6-1 in Gainesville last season. In 2015, Florida went to Arkansas and earned the 4-0 sweep.
Johannes Ingildsen has started the season 6-1 in singles and the Gators have started the season 24-13 in dual singles and 14-6 in doubles. In Florida's six wins, the Gators have had six different clinchers.
The Gators went 9-3 in conference play last season and finished third behind Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
Scouting the Razorbacks
Arkansas sits at No. 42 in the recent Oracle/ITA rankings and has four losses on the year. The Razorbacks have lost to No. 32 Oklahoma State, Indoor National Champions Ohio State and No. 3 Texas. On Friday, Arkansas opened SEC competition with a 5-2 over South Carolina, despite losing at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles position. No. 102 Oscar Mesquida is the only ranked singles player on the Razorbacks squad.
