GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After shining in his singles' performances against three top-30 teams this past week, sophomore
Oliver Crawford was rewarded with the SEC Athlete of the Week honor, as the league announced Wednesday.
Crawford was tabbed conference honors for the second time this season, sixth of his career.
The Spartanburg, S.C. native was perfect at the No. 1 singles position in Florida's wins over No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 26 Georgia and No. 22 Tennessee. He recorded three wins over ranked opponents, highlighted by a three-set win over No. 2 Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest. Crawford handed Chrysochos his first dual loss of the season.
Up next, Crawford and the Gators will host Illinois tonight, Wednesday, at 5 p.m. and step back into conference play with a home match against Vanderbilt on Thursday, March 20 at 5 p.m.
