With the second half of the MLB season beginning this weekend, we take a look back at how the 39 Gators performed in the professional ranks during the first half of the season.

Three former UF players made their Major League debut in the first half of 2019: Pete Alonso (New York Mets), Shaun Anderson (San Francisco Giants) and Richie Martin (Baltimore Orioles).

Alonso has stolen the spotlight, not only among former Florida players, but in all of baseball. Last week, he became the first-ever UF player to win the MLB Home Run Derby. He has 30 home runs on the year, second-most in all of baseball and 11 shy of the Mets' franchise record.

Martin was the Orioles starting shortstop on Opening Day and has played in 69 games. Anderson debuted on May 15 with the Giants and has a 4.23 ERA in 10 starts.

Pete Alonso (2014-16) | New York Mets: Exploded onto the scene with the Mets and has had a historic first half of the season, hitting .280 with 30 home runs and 68 RBI.
Shaun Anderson (2014-16) | San Francisco Giants: Debuted with the Giants on May 15 and has a 4.23 ERA in 10 starts at the Major League level.
Harrison Bader (2013-15) | St. Louis Cardinals: Hitting .205 as a regular in the Cardinals' outfield with six home runs and 19 RBI.
Anthony DeSclafani (2009-11) | Cincinnati Reds: Has a 5-4 record and 4.26 ERA in 17 starts. Over his last two starts, he's allowed just two runs in 12.0 innings with 13 strikeouts
Brian Johnson (2010-12) | Boston Red Sox: Currently on the DL; has pitched in seven games with a 6.43 ERA in 14 innings.
Richie Martin (2013-15) | Baltimore Orioles: Made his MLB debut on Opening Day and has played in 69 games with a .166 average, four home runs and 19 RBI.
Darren O'Day (2003-06) | Atlanta Braves: On DL all season, hopeful for return in second half of 2019
Bobby Poyner (2012-15) | Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA)/Boston Red Sox (40 man): Has just four innings at the big league level this year, but posted a 3.34 ERA in 27 games with AAA Pawtucket.
Justin Shafer (2012-14) | Toronto Blue Jays: Has a 2.89 ERA in six MLB appearances, allowing three runs in 9.1 innings pitched. In 22 appearances in AAA, he has a 1.88 ERA in 28.2 innings with 33 strikeouts.
Mike Zunino (2010-12) | Tampa Bay Rays: Traded to the Rays in the offseason, has a .182 average with four home runs and 19 RBI.

Austin Maddox (2010-12) | Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA)/Boston Red Sox: Has not pitched this year due to injury.
Paco Rodriguez (2010-12) | El Paso Chihuahuas (AAA)/San Diego Padres: Has a 3.35 ERA in 48.1 innings between AA and AAA this year.
Taylor Gushue (2012-14) | Fresno Grizzlies (AAA)/Washington Nationals: Batting .306 with the AAA Fresno Grizzlies (Washington Nationals) with eight home runs and 28 RBI.
Josh Tobias (2012-15} | Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA)/Boston Red Sox: Currently hitting .300 in 65 games this year between AA and AAA. In 43 games with AAA Pawtucket, he's hitting .288 with two home runs and 11 RBI.
Danny Young (2013-15) | New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA)/Toronto Blue Jays: Has a 3.86 ERA in 24 appearances between AA and AAA, limiting hitters to a .198 average against.

A.J. Puk (2014-16) | Midland Rockhounds (AA)/Oakland A's: Made his return from Tommy John surgery in June and has pitched 11.1 innings in seven appearances (three starts).
Buddy Reed (2014-16) | Amarillo Sod Poodles (AA)/San Diego Padres: In 81 games at the AA level, he's batting .233 with nine home runs and 34 RBI.
Dane Dunning (2014-16) | Birmingham Barons (AA)/Chicago White Sox: Had surgery in the spring and will miss the entire 2019 season.
Kirby Snead (2014-16) | Buffalo Bisons (AAA)/Toronto Blue Jays: Earned a promotion to AAA Buffalo and has a 2.68 ERA this year in 37 innings pitched. Also has a 0.97 WHIP.
Logan Shore (2014-16) | Erie SeaWolves (AA)/Detroit Tigers: After being traded last offseason, has been with AA Erie for all of 2019 and has a 3.94 ERA in 75.1 innings.
Scott Moss (2016) | Chattanooga Lookouts (AA)/Cincinnati Reds: Started the season with AA Chattanooga and has a 6-3 record and 3.23 ERA over 17 starts.
Frank Rubio (2014-17) | Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA)/San Francisco Giants: Posted a 0.29 ERA in 31.1 innings and earned a promotion to AA Richmond. Has allowed two earned runs in 8.2 innings since the promotion on June 12.
Alex Faedo (2015-17) | Erie SeaWolves (AA)/Detroit Tigers: Posted a 5-5 record and 3.44 ERA in the first half of the year with AA Erie. Has 98 strikeouts in 89 innings with a 1.08 WHIP.
Dalton Guthrie (2015-17) | Clearwater Threshers (A-High)/Philadelphia Phillies: Hitting .230 with 15 extra-base hits and 26 runs scored.
Mark Kolozsvary (2015-17) | Daytona Tortugas (High A)/Cincinnati Reds: Has a .218 average in 50 games with Daytona, hitting four home runs with 16 RBI.
Mike Rivera (2015-17) | Lynchburg Hillcats (A-High)/Cleveland Indians: Has played in 50 games with a .189 average, three home runs and 20 RBI.

Brady Singer (2016-18) | NW Arkansas Naturals (AA)/Kansas City Royals: Has a 3.38 ERA over 17 starts in 2019, earning a promotion to the AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals on May 30. He also earned a spot in the MLB All-Star Futures Game, pitching a scoreless inning out of the bullpen with a pair of strikeouts.

Jonathan India (2016-18) | Daytona Tortugas (A-High)/Cincinnati Reds: Has played in 83 games with a .255 batting average and 28 extra-base hits. Has eight home runs and 30 RBI on the season.
