Florida Wins 3-0 versus Orlando Pride Practice Players

Florida won its first exhibition match of season 3-0 Sunday versus Orlando Pride reserves. 
SANFORD, Fla. – Florida soccer won 3-0 Sunday afternoon over the Orlando Pride practice squad Sunday morning at Orlando City/Pride Soccer Club training facility.
 
The exhibition match was played in three 30-minute periods, with the Gators scoring a goal in each period.
 
Gator Goals Sunday:
  • Junior Deanne Rose gave the Gators their first goal in the seventh minute. Alex Stubblebine slotted the ball down the middle of the field where Rose found it and moved toward goal to then score from 10 yards.
  • In the second period, sophomore Cassidy Lindley's deep cross across the face of the goal was one-touched in by freshman Kouri Peace in the 36th minute.
  • The final goal came in the 76th minute. Tess Sapone's angled pass was one-touched in by fellow senior Alyssa Howell from 10 yards.
 
More Preseason Action Saturday:
Florida plays its second and final preseason match Saturday at No. 23 Wake Forest. Match time is 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium. It will be the Demon Deacons second exhibition match, as they play Wednesday at No. 11 West Virginia.
